The journey of JWFA and our commitment to walking football
The Johor Walking Football Association (JWFA) was established in February 2025 with the vision of making football enjoyable, safe, and accessible to all ages. The initiative was spearheaded by Ricalin Ganam, JWFA President and former N9WFC goalkeeper, drawing inspiration from the 2nd Asian Pacific Walking Football Cup 2024 in Perth, Australia.
Despite the initial challenges of introducing a new sport, particularly to older adults, our unwavering passion for promoting healthy aging, social connection, and a lifelong love for football has driven our efforts. Today, with over 70 dedicated members, we proudly stand as pioneers of walking football in Johor, committed to fostering health, unity, and a lasting appreciation for the game. We are officially recognized as the Johor Walking Football Association for Johor State.
